Best poker bot on Reddit: what six threads recommend
Anyone who types "best poker bot reddit" expects a ranked answer from people with no stake in it. On 1 October 2026 I read six public threads that come up for that search. None of them contains an endorsement of a winning bot from a user with a track record. The threads contain a vendor pitch that got called advertising, a recruiting thread built on private messages, and a handful of legal bot-versus-bot sandboxes that are a different product entirely. I put these next to my PPPoker bench to find what is usable.
What I did and did not do
I searched Google for "best poker bot reddit", then pulled the public JSON of the threads that came up, plus a few I found by searching Reddit directly. I read each post and the highest-voted comments. I did not log in, message anyone, open a purchase page or install anything. Six threads is a small, non-random sample. These are the ones a search engine ranks, which is the same page a buyer would see.
This page is not a bench result. The products I benched on PPPoker (see the comparison) are not the ones these threads argue about, so nothing below says one vendor won or lost. I compare behaviour in the threads with my bench results for the category.
The six threads
| Thread | Posted | Size | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| r/poker — "Here is a list of sites that The Bot Firm bots work on" | Oct 2024 | 44 comments | The one thread about a bot for sale. Commenters call it free advertising; the two highest-scored replies were removed by moderators and I cannot see why. |
| r/passiveincome — "Passive income with poker bots" | Oct 2020 | 30 comments | Poster refuses to name the product. Replies are mostly "DM me", including one offering a bot that plays $200 NL "for details". |
| r/poker — "Would a GTO bot crush the micros?" | Mar 2024 | 124 comments | Theory debate. Names solvers (GTO Wizard, PioSolver), sells nothing. Commenters generally agree it would beat the micros, with rake eating much of the edge. |
| r/poker — "I built a poker platform for bots only" | Apr 2026 | 74 comments | Founder promotes a legal site where users' bots play each other. A competing sandbox's owner posts a link in the comments. |
| r/poker — "I run a platform where AI bots play poker against each other" | May 2026 | 45 comments | Same founder, seasons with prizes. Disclosed promotion; top reply is a joke about Ignition. |
| r/poker — "Best AI for poker" | Jun 2026 | 16 comments | A hand-review question, not a bot. Replies say current AI is not good enough; one commenter plugs a coaching site, and the "is it free?" follow-up goes unanswered. |
Two of the six are about bots that play real-money games against real people. One of those is a seller thread that the community treats as an ad, the other is a thread where the operator will not name the product. The remaining four are about solvers, a theory question and legal bot-versus-bot sites. A search for the best poker bot returns very little on products you could rank.
Who answers "best poker bot" on Reddit
The voices in these threads fall into four groups.
Sellers who disclose themselves. The platform founder in two threads says plainly that it is his project. That is disclosed promotion, and the only one in the sample that is a bot product with a working link. It is a sandbox, so it does not help you win at a real table.
Pitches with no name attached. The "DM for details" replies include a strong claim (a bot at $200 NL), no name, no link, no price, and a request to move to private messages. You cannot check anything, and there is nobody to hold accountable later. My own bench included a vendor whose setup cost was in four figures and whose engine its own support could not explain (see the comparison), so I take the private-message route seriously as a risk.
Skeptics. They dominate the seller thread and the AI-review thread, arguing that online poker is full of bots, nobody has seen a plug-and-play winner, "AI is not there yet". In the passive-income thread they are hard to find. These sceptical replies take little effort to post and rarely include numbers. They convey mood, not data.
People answering a different question. Solver recommendations and "use an LLM for hand review" are good advice for studying and have nothing to do with the bot a buyer searched for.
What my bench adds
The sceptics in the threads and my bench point the same way: a commercial retail bot is not something you pick from a ranking and expect to win with. Of the thirteen setups I ran over about 22,000 hands each on PPPoker, one finished ahead and one broke even; the rest lost money or were banned. The test covered a single room and player pool during autumn 2025 to winter 2026, and the methodology page lists what I did not control.
What Reddit cannot tell you, and the bench can, is how much of the outcome comes from the operator and not the product. Every vendor I tested publishes guidance on session length, location and IPs, which I followed. The threads never get to that level; they argue about whether a bot exists, not what surrounds it. Detection depends more on the surrounding setup than on the specific bot.
The one setup that finished ahead in my test was PokerBotAI. It is not in any of the six threads. This indicates where it is discussed, not its quality.
A five-minute check for a Reddit recommendation
- Is the product named, with a link and a price? If not, you have an anecdote, not a recommendation.
- Is the poster's connection disclosed? The founder who wrote "I built this" earns more trust than an account with no history praising a product.
- Did anyone report back? Look for a second user who bought it, ran it and posted results or a ban. Replies of "interesting" and "DM me" do not count.
- Which room, which stakes, which dates? A claim without a room is unfalsifiable. A claim from 2020 says little about a client updated since.
- Were the highest-voted replies removed? I cannot tell why they were. It does mean the visible discussion is thinner than it looks.
I do not tell anyone that a bot is safe to run or that it will go unnoticed. Every product on my bench was flagged at some point except the two that completed the window, and clean during one window is not a promise about your account. Using one may also break a room's rules or your local law.
FAQ
Does Reddit recommend a best poker bot? Not in the six threads I read. The real-money threads are sceptical, the sandbox threads are about legal bot-versus-bot sites, and the rest are about solvers or study tools.
Is "The Bot Firm" worth buying? I have not tested it and it is not in my bench. The one thread about it was met with accusations of advertising, and I would not treat a thread like that as evidence either way.
Are Reddit bot recommendations real? Some are disclosed self-promotion, some are private-message pitches. I found no thread where an independent user with a history reported results from a named bot.
What should I read instead? The full comparison with prices and outcomes per product on one room, and the methodology that shows how it was built.
When was this checked? 1 October 2026, from public thread data. Thread scores and moderation change over time.
More: the full eight-product comparison is on the homepage; the test setup is on the methodology page; per-criterion scoring is under criteria; what is public about bots on one specific room is in the ACR review.
